Love Your Library

Its September so that means its LOVE YOUR LIBRARY MONTH!

Thanks to the generosity of the Jack Buncher Foundation, all participating Allegheny County libraries will receive a pro-rated portion of a $200,000 match pool to support their general operations for any funds raised during the month of September. Special thanks to NiSource Charitable Foundation and Columbia Gas for their additional match pool contribution.

To celebrate, join us Tuesday September 29, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a Strega Nona spaghetti dinner in Bayne Park.

Adult tickets are $10.00 and Kids are $5.00. Gluten-free options will be available. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Andrew Bayne Memorial Library and are eligible for the Love Your Library Month match pool!

Summer StoryWalk

If I Had a Dinosaur

A little girl dreams of having her very own pet. But what kind of animal would make the best companion? A mouse is too small, a cat is too ordinary, and a fish is too . . . wet! As she plays with her toy dinosaur, inspiration strikes. What about a real, live dinosaur? She could ride it to school. It would need lots of food to eat, a swimming pool to drink from, and a dino flap so it could come and go!

Experience Kits

Starting June 1, stop by the library and pick up an Experience Kit!

Coordinated thanks to the Heinz History Center’s Affiliates Program (HCAP) and the Allegheny County Library Association, Experience Kits check out for one week and provide free admission for four people to a number of museums and historical sites around western Pennsylvania.
