Join Bayne Library this summer for Adventure is at Your Library – a summer reading adventure. We’ll be hosting programs and events all summer so be sure to check this page for updates!

Summer Reading

Kids

Our Kids Summer Reading is back in person and better than ever. Stop by the library and pick up reading logs to earn raffle tickets and prizes between 6/8/24-8/10/24. Be sure to stop by for our kick-off, Saturday, 6/8/24 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for a free book, bubbles, chalk, art, outdoor fun, and a visit from the Skyway Drivin’ Ice Cream Truck! Complete BINGO cards weekly (Baby/Toddler or Kid/Teen) for an additional raffle ticket. You can also earn a raffle ticket for each Bayne program you attend this summer!

Teen

If you are between the ages of 10-18, you can earn a raffle ticket for each book you read! Just sign up between 6/8/24-8/10/24 and you’ll be on your way to one of our great raffle prizes!

Adult

Adults deserve rewards for summer reading too! Sign up between 6/8/23-8/10/24 to earn raffle tickets for each book read. You can then enter them in drawings for some amazing gift cards to some awesome Bellevue businesses!

Art With Art Imagined

Join Ms. Heather from Art Imagined for some art lessons! Ms. Heather will be here Monday June 10th, June 17th, and July 1st for all ages art!

Tuesday Toddler Time

Join us Tuesdays at 10:30 for Tuesday Toddler Time! Perfect for ages 18 months-3 years with a caregiver, we will read stories, sing, dance, clap, play instruments, and make crafts together. Stay and play afterwards!

Try-It Tuesday

Join us every Tuesday for “Try-It Tuesday”! Intended for grades K-6, these 1 hour programs will introduce you to a new skill. Programs will take place outside as weather permits.

6/11/24, 1:00 p.m.: Carnegie Science Center – Build It To Blast Off! (Inside program – Preschool on up welcome to attend with adult supervision!)
6/18/24, 1:00 p.m.: Soccer Shots (Ages 3 and up welcome to attend!)
6/25/24, 1:00 p.m.: Allegheny County Parks – Mr. McSlithers the Snake
7/2/24, 1:30 p.m.: The Pittsburgh Zoo Zoomobile
7/9/24, 1:00 p.m.: Yoga with Natalie (all ages; bring a towel or blanket)
7/16/24, 1:00p.m.: Tree Pittsburgh
7/23/24, 1:00 p.m.: Backyard Beekeeping with Dan McKelvey (All ages)
7/30/24, 1:00 p.m.: Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens – Make a Birdfeeder! (Space is limited)
8/6/24, 1:00 p.m.: Carnegie Museum of Natural History: Dinosaur Mini Museum (1-5 PM; all ages, including adults welcome!)
