
Corporal Walter J. Dutcher was born in Sault St. Marie in Canada on February 6, 1900. He enlisted on May 23, 1917 in Bellevue. As a member of Company G, 111th Infantry he sailed aboard the Olympic on May 5, 1918 from New York, NY to serve oversees. He was severely wounded in action in Nantes, France on August 13, 1918. He died on October 16, 1918. He was interred on September 22. 1920 at West Lawn Cemetery in Canton, Ohio. He was the son of Mr. John S. Dutcher and Mrs. Rettie Rugg Dutcher Schoenlein of Canton, Ohio.
