Sergeant Frank Christopher Groetzinger was born on October 26, 1892 in Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the medical corps in Philadelphia on August 21, 1917. He served at Oglethorpe in Georgia in Field Hospital 20 until October 6, 1917 when he served in Field Hospital 22 Camp Greenleaf of Fort Oglethorpe in Georgia until November 20, 1917. Then he served in the medical department of the Motor Transport Corps. rising up the ranks, promoted to Corporal on January 10, 1918 and promoted to Sergeant on February 10, 1918. He died of pneumonia while in service at Camp Greenleaf of Fort Oglethorpe in Georgia on October 10, 1918. His headstone is located at Highwood Cemetery. His father was Mr. Aldolph Christian Groetzinger, his mother was Mrs. May E. Groetzinger, and his sister was Miss Ester M. Groetzinger. He also had four brothers, Lloyd, Howard, Herbert, and Paul. The family lived at 601 Highland Place in Bellevue.
