Private Bernard Joseph McGlinchey was born on April 30, 1896 in Mineral City, Ohio. He registered in Bellevue on June 5th, 1917 and was enlisted in the Columbus Barracks in Ohio on June 12, 1917. He served in Hq Co 21 Cavalry through August 28, 1917 when he was honorably discharged at Fort Riley, Kansas.  On April 30, 1918 he died of tuberculosis at the young age of twenty-two. He is buried at Christ our Redeemer Cemetery. His father was Charles J. McGlinchey, his mother was Sylvia F. McGlinchey, and he had one brother James, and four sisters Kathleen, Mazella, Patrice, and Monica. The family lived at 681 Orchard Avenue in Bellevue.
