Summer Reading
Kids
Our Kids Summer Reading is back in person and better than ever. Stop by the library and pick up reading logs to earn raffle tickets and prizes between 6/1/26-8/8/26. Be sure to stop by for our kick-off, Thursday, 6/9/26 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a free book, bubbles, chalk, art, outdoor fun, and popsicles – plus our first Try It Tuesday with a visit from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History! (Yes, adults, you can sign up then, too!) Complete BINGO cards weekly (Baby/Toddler or Kid/Teen) for an additional raffle ticket. You can also earn a raffle ticket for each Bayne program you attend this summer!
Tween/Teen
If you are between the ages of 10*-18, you can earn a raffle ticket for each book you read! Just sign up between 6/1/26-8/8/26 and you’ll be on your way to one of our great raffle prizes! We will give you a reading tracker to help you keep track of the number of books you read. Turn in a completed tracker for extra tickets!
*Children aged 10-12 can decide if they want to participate in our Kids or Teen program!*
Adult
Adults deserve rewards for summer reading too! Sign up between 6/1/26-8/8/26 to earn raffle tickets for each book read. You can then enter them in drawings for some amazing gift cards to some awesome Bellevue businesses!

This summer we will have 12 $25 gift cards to Bellevue Businesses. No matter your age, you choose what you’d like to win! You can win a gift card to Wunderbar, Tavern Pizza, T&M Hardware, Vintage Max Bookstore, Lucky Bites PGH, Kuhn’s Market, Dollar General, Scoops in Bellevue, Eat N Park, Arcadia Collectibles, Secret Manga Shop, or Moon & Yarn Craft Room.
Kids Programming
Tuesday Toddler Time

Join us Tuesdays at 10:30 for Tuesday Toddler Time! Perfect for ages 18 months-3 years with a caregiver, we will read stories, sing, dance, clap, and play instruments together. Stay and play afterwards!
Try-It Tuesday

Join us every Tuesday for “Try-It Tuesday”! Intended for grades K-6, these 1 hour programs will introduce you to a new skill. Programs will take place outside as weather permits. Registration is required for events marked with a *; registration will open two weeks before the program at 10 AM at bayne.librarycalendar.com.

- 6/30/26, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: African Drumming and Storytelling with Bellevue Elementary Principal Qualisha Zyhier and drummers Tazi Hughes and Jaiya Hughes – Please note that there will not be Toddler Tuesday this day!

Baby Lapsit

A story time for our littlest friends on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Babies up to 18 months will enjoy stories, songs, and bounces.
Pre-School Storytime

A story-time and activity geared towards our pre-school aged friends (3-5) with an adult caregiver every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Select Thursdays – Lego Club with Lego Master Krista Kay
Join Season 5 of Lego Masters contestant Krista Kay for Lego Club at the library! Open to kids ages 6-12; registration is required at bayne.librarycalendar.com. Registration will open at 10 AM two weeks before each session.

Select Mondays – Art With Art Imagined
Join us at 10:30 AM on June 15th & 29th and July 13th & 27th to make some art with Ms. Heather of Art Imagined! All ages are welcome to attend. Registration is helpful and located at bayne.librarycalendar.com. Registration will open two weeks before all events at 10 AM.

Dig Up Dinos in Bellevue!

Go on a scavenger hunt throughout Bellevue to find all 10 of the hidden dinosaurs! Pick up a sheet at the library and stop by these 10 businesses: Wunderbar, Vintage Max Bookstore, Haven Cafe, Arcadia Collectibles, Lucky Bites PGH, T&M Hardware, Bellevue Bicycles, Scoops in Bellevue, Lincoln Avenue Brewery, and Tavern Pizza. Return your completed hunt to the library for a summer reading raffle ticket and a prize! For kids and adults!
Adult Programming
There’s fun for adults this summer, too! Join us for Book Club the second Tuesday of the month at 2 PM and Classics Book Club the fourth Tuesday of the month at 2 PM! Titles are always posted on this website.
BookVue Book Club, our genre-less, themed book club, meets at Vintage Max Bookstore (496 Lincoln Avenue) on June 11 (with a book swap!) and August 13th.
