2018 Farmers’ Market Voucher Distribution Sites

Residents of Allegheny County, aged  at least 60 years of age at or below income level* are eligible to receive four $5.00 checks totaling $20.00 that can be used to purchase fruits & vegetables grown in PA or a surrounding state directly from a participating PA farm or a Farmers Market. Husbands & wives may both receive the vouchers. Identification with proof of age and residency is required for distribution.  Sponsored by Lutheran Senior Life.  Distribution Sites are listed below.

Summer Concert Series

Mark your calendars!  The Summer Concert Series is starting Wednesday, June 6.  Join us at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evenings, after the Farmer’s Market, for music and community in Bayne Park!

Please note, the library will close at 6:00 p.m. on concert evenings and the book drop will be unavailable.

Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Does your Dad already have everything he needs or wants?  When you ask him what she wants for any holiday, does he say “nothing”?

Fathers Day

How about honoring hm by putting his name in a Library book?  When you contribute to buy a book for Andrew Bayne Memorial Library a name plate with your Father’s name will be placed in a new book to be enjoyed by all.

Pick up an envelope at the Library, enclose your check, and return it to the Library.  You will receive a card to give to your Dad on his special day that acknowledges your gift.

Join us every Friday morning after, at 10:30 a.m. and we’ll bounce, sing, and clap our way to early literacy!

Baby Reading
Geared to babies from birth to 18 months, Baby Lapsit introduces babies to language and literacy with songs, bounces, board books, and fingerplays. Playtime with age appropriate toys will follow!

2018 Fifty Book Challenge

50 Book ChallengeIt’s not too late to join The 50 Book Challenge!  Challenge yourself to read 50 books in one year!   Registration  can be completed at either Bayne or Avalon Public Library.   When you finish the challenge, you’ll receive a prize and will be entered for a chance to with the grand prize!

If you are 55 years of age and have access to a computer, the Internet, and a webcam you can join the Virtual Senior Academy!

Senior Coffee Mornings

Patrons ages 55 and over are invited to have full use of the library on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.* Come browse books, use the computer, read the newspaper and socialize with other seniors while you enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a sweet treat.  Be an early bird @ Bayne!

* Please be advised that in the event of inclement weather, we will follow Northgate School District for closings/delays. If the Northgate School District has a delay or cancellation – Senior Coffee will also be canceled.
